Route 66 Nicole McGinnis, Lebanon city tourism director, is the newest member of the Lebanon-Laclede County Route 66 Society Board.

McGinnis was appointed at Tuesday’s board meeting to replace Howard Fuller, who resigned in May after serving 13 years on the board.

As tourism director, McGinnis already was an ex-officio member of the board.

In a report to the board, she said:

-- The city will have a booth Aug. 10-11 at the Birthplace of Route 66 Festival in Springfield. The booth will be in the Glass House, where authors, artists and associations have displays.

-- The Missouri Division of Tourism has approved a $21,265 grant for the city’s tourism department to market leisure travel to Lebanon and Laclede County.

-- A camera crew is in Lebanon this week shooting a Lebanon episode for “KMOS presents Missouri Life,” a seven-part series that will air regionally on Public Broadcasting Stations. Several Route 66 attractions will be included in the episode.

-- The Big BAM bicycle event’s overnight stop in Lebanon was successful. Local restaurants reported strong business that night.
